Summer 2017 Internships at Envoy

Envoy’s airline operation takes more than one group to make it run as successfully as it does. It takes many departments and bright minds to ensure Envoy’s high-quality performance.

This summer, we are looking to hire college interns to help us in our operation, as well as to bolster your college career. Our paid 11-week summer internship will not only enhance your studies, but also provide an educational experience you can’t find in the classroom.

As an intern, you will learn real world skills while building a professional network of future peers. You will learn the ins and outs of how your team impacts the business day-to-day and gain an understanding of the commercial aviation business.

Finance

Interns will function as Financial Analysts in one of the company’s key financial/operational departments. Each participant will be assigned a mentor and will participate in various training opportunities during the internship.

Typical job duties include:

  • Analyzing Envoy’s monthly financial results and understanding financial controls
  • Develop strategic analyses using analytic systems such as Microsoft Excel, SAP, Essbase, and Sabresoftware suite
  • Building automated analytical processes and improving control tools
  • Closing monthly financials and forecasting remaining year changes to the financial operating plan
  • Analysis of capital and non-capital spending, within AR’s and purchasing agreements

Tax Analyst

Intern will function as a Tax Analyst in the company’s sales and use tax department. The responsibilities of this position include analysis of tax data, preparation and oversight of state and local sales/use tax returns, and involvement in special projects.

Typical job duties include:

  • Analyzing Envoy’s monthly invoice payments for sales and use tax compliance using analytic systems such as Microsoft Excel, SAP, and Sabre Software Suite
  • Reconciling various tax accounts
  • Working closely with various levels of state governments to ensure complete and accurate reporting
  • Working with various levels of internal management to complete ongoing special project

Purchasing

Intern will function as Supply Chain Analyst in the company’s Purchasing department. The responsibilities of this position include development and analysis of historical and current data to support bid process for aircraft parts and services, with goal of improving cost and lead times.

Typical job duties include:

  • Analyzing historical data to set baseline
  • Analyzing performance of products and suppliers (workscope, price, escalation, lead-time, quality, warranty, etc)
  • Assessing marketplace for qualified suppliers
  • Developing target prices for specific commodities
  • Creating a Request For Proposal (RFP) for certain products and services

Airport Services Planning

Interns will function as Customer Services/Manpower Planning Analyst in one of the company’s ground handling/operational departments. Performance reporting and analysis may cover any part of the business including: Airport Handling, Manpower Planning, Baggage Performance or Metric Evaluation.

Typical job duties include:

  • Analyzing Envoy’s current cleaning time studies and creation of new time studies
  • Develop and improve spreadsheet analysis process
  • Building automated analytical processes and improving control tools

Operations Planning

Intern will function as a Performance Analyst in the Envoy’s Operations Planning department. The responsibilities of this position include analysis of operations performance, metrics and trends, as well as involvement in special projects.

Typical job duties include:

  • Analyze Envoy Performance data using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Prioritize report development with focus on providing highest value to Envoy
  • Help departments design performance scorecards by defining the best data sources and converting extracted data into operational insights
  • Research and analyze data to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality

Human Resources

The Human Resources department is hiring an intern to work within the Leadership Training & Development group. The Intern will function as a Specialist and help develop metrics analysis related to training effectiveness, participation levels and effectiveness of the performance management program.

Communications

The Communications Intern will serve as Web Developer to evaluate Envoy’s existing internal and external web sites to edit pages, add functionality, improve user interface, modify and enhance the design and create new WordPress html templates to aid in content management.

Typical job duties include:

  • Understanding the various audiences accessing the sites, and how they consume information
  • Understand SEO and optimize sites to improve visibility and performance in search results
  • Work with various stakeholders to develop and implement site enhancements
  • Coordinate efforts with IT support team, to ensure proper documentation and network compatibility

Flight Operations

Interns will function as assistants to a Flight Department Manager or Director. The responsibilities of this position may include analysis of flight performance, researching operational issues and involvement in special projects.

Typical job duties include:

  • Analyzing Envoy’s daily flight statistics
  • Researching operational issues and delays using SABRE and other real time computer systems
  • Presenting analysis to managers, communicating findings and recommending process improvements

Flight Safety

Interns will function as data analysts in the company’s Flight Safety Department. The responsibilities of this position include analysis of various voluntary safety program data streams as well as creative thinking to accurately and clearly depict trends that emerge.

Typical job duties include:

  • Creating and editing analyses on flight and maintenance data
  • Analysis of voluntary safety reports (such as LOSA and ASAP program)
  • Detecting common trends amongst all programs and developing presentations and reports to support these trends
