Last month, thousands of aviation enthusiasts from across the country came together for a week of sunshine, airplanes and air shows at the 50th annual SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida.
Though this famous fly-in event typically sees appearances from all types of aircraft, from small single-engine planes to military fighter jets, this year was the first time the Envoy team flew in on one of our very own Embraer 175 (E175) aircraft.
Flight Deck Views
“We were happy to have the opportunity to bring in our newest E175 to SUN ‘n FUN this year,” said Envoy Manager of Pilot Recruitment, Captain Austin Decker. “We’ve attended this event many times in the past, but this was the first time we were able to bring one of our aircraft out for everyone to come get an up-close look at.”
With a brand-new E175 present, SUN ‘n FUN attendees had a chance to check out the cabin and flight deck, and speak to members of our pilot recruitment team about what a day in the life as an Envoy pilot looks like.
When attendees weren’t looking at the hundreds of aircraft parked on the ramp at Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) for the expo, they were looking up at the sky to check out the airshows that went on every single day.
Kicking it off with a concert
At the end of the very first night, attendees shifted their views from the skies to the stage to watch some incredible performances by country music stars Sara Evans and Dylan Scott.
“On top of bringing our E175 in for the first time this year, we also were able to sponsor the kickoff concert and VIP section for it,” said Envoy Pilot Recruiter Alex Stephens. “After a full day of seeing all the aircraft and airshows, it was great to kick back with all the attendees and enjoy an exciting concert put on by some great performers.”
After a week filled with everything an aviation enthusiast could ask for, we’re already looking forward to what next year will bring!
