60-Second Interview: Joshua Thomas

In celebration of Black History Month, we’re sharing a series of 60-second interviews with employees and leaders from across Envoy. In our first interview, we’ll hear from Joshua Thomas, Envoy Ramp Services Shift Manager at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

How do you celebrate Black History Month?

“I celebrate Black History Month by spending time with family expressing our love for our ancestors and our community as a whole. I support Black-owned businesses, eat our cultural food and wear clothing reflecting our people.”

What do you love about your job?

“I love the diversity and culture Envoy has. Working here feels like one big family environment. I love to build on each day and progress while mentoring and coaching my colleagues to be their best.”

If you were not in the aviation industry, what job would you do?

“I would be a chef and have my own food truck or lounge with great food, drinks and music.”

What makes you proud?

“Multiple things make me proud: my kids, my achievements, my progression — to look back and see where I started to where I am now is unbelievable. I never in a million years would have guessed this is where my future would reside, but now I am here and loving every second of it.”

Tell us one or two things on your bucket list.

“I would like to own a lounge in LA. I would bring great music, great drinks, dancing and great food.

Another thing on my bucket list would be to travel the world and rate the food. I love food so traveling to try different foods would be a dream come true.”
