60-Second Interview: Lorna King

In celebration of Black History Month, we’re sharing a series of 60-second interviews with employees and leaders from across Envoy. In our next interview, we’ll hear from Lorna King, Envoy Flight Services Manager for the South region.

How do you celebrate Black History Month?

“I celebrate by going to Black History Month events and learning new information about the people who have made a difference in our culture.”

What do you love about your job?

“Envoy has so many interesting facets. I love teaching, training, elevating, learning new skills and the ability to be unconventional in every area.

Flight Service is always changing procedures and policies, and I can be like a chameleon and enjoy the flow. I’ve had a fabulous journey with an airline where the wonderful assignments I have been exposed to are better than anything I could have dreamed of.

It’s been the most exciting time of my life!”

If you were not in the aviation industry, what job would you do?

“I would be an estate-sale junky!”

What makes you proud?

“My three intelligent daughters! My eldest daughter is about to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

My second daughter is a highly decorated Master Sargent in U.S. Airforce. My youngest daughter is a biochemist by trade, and currently home schooling my highly intelligent granddaughter.

At work, I’m proud knowing that all of our crewmembers are elevated, encouraged and feel respected in any and all situations.”

Tell us one or two things on your bucket list.

“To begin a travel excursion at least once a month and get married for the second time.”
