Last month, Envoy crewmembers based in Phoenix, Ariz. (PHX) gathered to celebrate the grand opening of their newly-renovated crew room.
The Envoy team in PHX has grown tremendously since the introduction of our PHX Crew and Line Maintenance base in September 2022 This latest update gives our crewmembers a dedicated space to relax, and provides a great foundation for increased flight operations out of the base.
“A lot goes into running a crew and maintenance base out of one of American’s major hubs,” said Dee Temples, Senior Vice President of Air Operations. “It’s not just another airport that crewmembers pass through when transporting our customers. When pilots and flight attendants aren’t operating a flight, they spend a great deal of their working hours in their hub airport, so it’s important that they have somewhere they can go to relax and recharge in between their flights.”
To celebrate the grand opening, Envoy senior leadership joined PHX-based crewmembers in their new space to enjoy some tacos and officially cut the ribbon to their renovated crew room.
“It’s been wonderful having this new space for our crew to come relax in when they’re waiting for their next trip, away from the hustle and bustle of the typical airport traffic,” said Lorna King, Envoy PHX Manager of Flight Service. “In addition to the renovations made to the crew room, we were also able to update our offices next door so that the space functions better for our day-to-day schedules and responsibilities.”
Congratulations on your new digs, PHX!
