In celebration of Women’s History Month and the amazing women who work at Envoy, we wanted to share a few quick interviews that highlight their hard work and dedication to inspire others. Let’s meet Luz Mijangos who is a Customer Care Operations Trainer at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
What is the significance of Women’s History Month to you?
“As we reflect on invaluable contributions of women throughout history, it’s important to recognize and celebrate the diverse voices and achievements of women from all diverse backgrounds and cultures. Let’s take this opportunity to honor and uplift the women who continue to inspire, lead and shape our communities.”
What do you love about your job?
“I truly love being a Trainer. Being the first point-of-contact in a new employee’s journey is both an honor and a fulfilling experience.
Helping them navigate their first steps, build confidence and feel welcomed in their new role is something I take great pride in.”
If you were not in the aviation industry, what job would you do?
“If I weren’t in the aviation industry, I would be a preschool teacher. There is something truly special about shaping young minds, fostering curiosity and creating a foundation for lifelong learning.”
What makes you proud?
“I am incredibly proud to be a mom of six and to have three of my daughters in college at the same time. Watching them pursue their education and work toward their goals is an amazing experience that fills me with joy and gratitude.”
Tell us one or two things on your bucket list.
“I wanted to share two meaningful goals on my bucket list that I am determined to accomplish. First, I plan to write a book about the incredible women in my life — from my mother to my great-granddaughter — honoring their stories, strength and impact. The journeys have shaped me, and I want to preserve their legacy for future generations.
Second, I am setting out to learn how to play the trombone just like my daddy did. Music has always been a powerful connection in my family, and this journey will be both a tribute to him and a personal challenge I am excited to take on.”
