Gallery: Giving Back Locally This Earth Day

Who’s afraid of little dirt? Certainly not the folks from Envoy Headquarters (EHQ) who recently volunteered to trudge through muddy creeks and underpasses to help clean a local park in Irving, TX.

In celebration of Earth Day today, we’re sharing a story of collaboration between the Envoy Finance & Planning teams and Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) who teamed up to pick up more than 117 lbs. of litter from nearby T.W. Richardson Grove Park.

“We would like to thank Envoy employees for participating in a park cleanup service project,” said Rick Hose, KIB Coordinator. “Your efforts made a positive impact at this popular location. We would especially like to thank you for organizing and encouraging your coworkers to volunteer.”

Organizing the volunteer event was Envoy Finance Analyst Will Parker III who said he’s enjoyed volunteering from a young age. When he saw that some folks signed up outside of his department, he was thrilled that others wanted to join.

One of those people were Employee Service Coordinator Ashley Stark who saw the call to volunteer in an email.

“I saw the photo of people who looked so happy to volunteer and said, ‘I want to join!'” said Ashley. “With Earth Day coming up, I thought I would take the opportunity to be more caring toward our environment.”

Yes, there were bugs, trash, grime…plenty of dirty stuff to pick up and put where it belongs, but many saw this as a great opportunity for bonding, fresh air and exercise.

“I love doing stuff like this because you get to get out of the office for a little while, take in some fresh air,” said Aasia Kroviak, Director of Financial Planning and Ground Handling. “Not only that, we’re also taking care of our local environment.”

Thank you to the folks at EHQ for giving back to the environment and getting dirty like it’s Earth Day!
