Celebrating Admin Professionals’ Day with Andrea Cox

In celebration of Administrative Professionals’ Day, we’re shining a spotlight on our Executive Admin, Andrea Cox, who keeps our senior leadership teams organized, on track, and running smoothly every day. Her dedication, attention to detail, and behind-the-scenes leadership play a vital role in our organization’s success.

From juggling calendars and coordinating high-level meetings to anticipating needs before they arise, Andrea brings both professionalism and heart to everything she does. Learn more about Andrea’s role and how she got her start at Envoy below.

Can you tell us a little about your role and how long you’ve been with the company?

“I have been with Envoy for seven years as of May. In my role as an Executive Administrator, I support the Executive team with a wide range of responsibilities that vary from day to day.

These include managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments and organizing company events. My position requires flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.”

What inspired you to pursue a career at Envoy?

“Honestly, I pursued this job because it sounded interesting, offered the opportunity for travel and would bring me closer to home. At the time, I was commuting over an hour each way and missing valuable time with my family.

When this opportunity came up, it felt like the right fit at the right time, and I truly hoped it would work out.”

How do you stay organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently?

“I really enjoy the admin role because it allows me to take on a variety of tasks – no two days are ever the same. I prioritize my workload based on urgency and deadlines, which means my to-do list is ever-changing.

I’m a bit old-school in my approach and carry a notebook and pen to jot down tasks as they come up. Each day, I make a fresh list and love being able to cross things off as I complete them.”

How has your role evolved over the years?

“My first job out of school was as a receptionist at a hotel where I was answering phones, taking messages, sorting packages and mail. When I started, I barely knew how to use a computer, so things like ordering office supplies or groceries online were totally new to me.

Fast forward a few years, I took on more responsibility, learned new systems and eventually transitioned into an admin role. It’s been quite a journey, and I’ve loved growing with it.

In my current role, I wouldn’t say my responsibilities are that of a traditional admin – and that’s exactly what I love about it. This role is very dynamic, and I get to be involved in so many different things from planning events and executive meetings, to coordinating parking passes, and even creating collateral for internal events.

That variety keeps every day fresh. One of the best parts of being with Envoy is the chance to collaborate with different work groups and the ability to work on several different projects at once.”

Have there been any particularly rewarding moments in your career that stand out?

“I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after wrapping a big event, like the Halloween and Holiday events at Headquarters. I’ve loved seeing how those events have grown, year after year and how people genuinely look forward to them.

Recently during a meeting, the Exec team recognized me for my contributions to Envoy. Hearing their kind words truly floored me – it was one of those moments that reminded me why I love what I do.

Knowing that my work and value as an Admin are seen and appreciated means the world and it motivates me to keep showing up and giving my best every day.”

What do you love about working at Envoy?

“I truly love working at Envoy. What makes this the best place I have ever worked is the people and that starts from the top.

The culture here is incredibly supportive, friendly, and genuinely caring, which is rare to find these days. When you are surrounded by people like that, it inspires you to stay, to give your best and to keep showing up.

I also love the opportunity to travel. I absolutely love exploring new places and the travel benefits Envoy offers are incredible – not just for us but for our families, too.

We went from taking small vacations to being able to travel the world. Not many jobs give you that kind of experience, and it’s something that I don’t take for granted.”

Advice for anyone looking to break into corporate aviation?

“Just do it! Apply for the job, you can literally start anywhere and move up in this company. We have several terrific examples of folks who have done just that. Envoy is a wonderful company, set apart by its people and culture.”
