Today, Envoy received final approval from the FAA to add the Embraer 175 (E175) to our Operating Specifications. This was the last hurdle to clear in order to operate the E175 in revenue service, and the team met all of the FAA’s expectations – more than two weeks prior to Envoy’s first scheduled flights on Feb. 11.
“After nearly a year of hard work by teams all across Envoy, it’s now official,” said Jim Winkley, Vice President E175 Project. “It was a massive project, but everyone readily accepted the challenge and we got it done. I received numerous compliments from the FAA on the work we did, and that’s a testament to the caliber of our people. With 49 pilots already trained and certified on the E175, we’re ready to put the plane into service right away.”
“My thanks to Jim and his entire team,” said President and CEO Pedro Fabregas. “The E175 represents the future of Envoy, and everyone involved did a tremendous job ensuring a smooth addition to our fleet. With two to three new aircraft arriving every month, it’s an exciting time for all of us!”
