On Friday, June 21, the Envoy Customer Services team at Miami International Airport (MIA) hosted a media event to showcase their autonomous wheelchair service, WHILL, in partnership with MIA airport authorities and representatives from Miami-Dade County offices.
“We’re excited to be the first airport in North America to offer WHILL’s technology,” said Migdoel Rosa, Envoy MIA Hub Vice President. “Since December, our Envoy team has worked closely with WHILL and MIA to seamlessly integrate this innovative service that gives customers more independence when traveling with us.”
WHILL devices are designed for customers with limited mobility to navigate gates without assistance while allowing the Envoy Customer Assistance Representative (CAR) team to support those with greater needs. Devices are currently in use at MIA and Los Angeles (LAX) locations.
