Love is in the Air: Nathan Hewitt and Lauren Nossman

In a world that often feels hectic, Nathan Hewitt and Lauren Nossman are two people who serendipitously crossed paths despite the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Once they found one another, they learned they both feel love is about creating a future full of hope and possibilities.

First Impressions

It all started on Halloween night in 2023 when Nathan and Lauren met through a mutual friend. Nathan said he was a bit “timid” at first but as the evening progressed, they discovered they both worked for Envoy. Lauren is a First Officer with Envoy since 2023, and Nathan works as the Phoenix Aircraft Maintenance Base Manager with seventeen years of aviation experience.

That night, Nathan noticed that Lauren loved pink Starbursts candy. Throughout the evening, he began sneaking the pink ones into her pocket so she would find them later.

Lauren later moved them all to her flight bag and was still snacking on them a month later. It was a playful and memorable first meeting that they both cherish.

Shared Adventures

Since that memorable Halloween night, Nathan and Lauren have shared countless adventures together. During their time off, they’ve traveled across the continental U.S. visiting family, attending concerts and exploring new destinations.

From strolling through botanical gardens to visiting aquariums and museums or exploring new destinations together, they’ve created lasting memories that have brought them even closer.

In the constantly changing world of aviation, having a strong support system is important. As Envoy faces new challenges, working together and encouraging each other becomes even more essential.

“We created a unique support system that encourages both our personal and professional life,” said Lauren. “We understand each other’s challenges and successes, providing encouragement during tough days and celebrating achievements, no matter how small.”

Moments at Work

Working in the same industry has its perks for Nathan and Lauren. Whenever their schedules align, they share brief but meaningful moments at work when possible.

Nathan occasionally meets Lauren between her turns, and when time permits, he will join her for pre-flight or post-flight walk-arounds. These small touchpoints not only strengthen their personal connection but also provide them with a deeper appreciation of each other’s roles within Envoy.

Nathan said that when they get to work together, they often find that understanding each other’s roles is key to maintaining a harmonious and supportive relationship.

“Lauren and I share insights that help both of us when at work,” said Nathan. “We try to communicate openly and respect each other’s roles. Ultimately, we’re a source of motivation for each other and we help each other navigate challenges we face.”

Bright Futures

As time went on, Nathan said he started to feel a deep sense of safety with Lauren. He realized he could rely on her for anything, and she had truly become his best friend. So, in August of this year, filled with love and certainty, he proposed marriage to Lauren.

“Our connection has grown stronger with every laugh we’ve shared and with every challenge we’ve faced together,” said Nathan. “It was in this comfortable space that I knew I wanted to take our relationship to the next level. Thankfully, she said ‘yes’!”

Congratulations, Nathan and Lauren, on your engagement! Looking forward to photos from the wedding!
