New connections can often happen when least expected. For Envoy Maintenance Training Developer Kasey Wilkes and Eagle Aviation Services Inc. (EASI) Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief David Singh, their bond began with a shared passion for aircraft maintenance.
What started as a professional partnership quickly grew into a friendship, then a partnership and eventually a loving marriage and the journey of parenthood.
First Impressions
Kasey and David’s story begins in an unlikely place, a late-night shift in the hangar. At the time, Kasey was an Aircraft Mechanic and David was assigned to the same shift, and met while working on a heat exchanger for an Embraer 145.
Kasey, never one to shy away from a conversation, introduced herself with her signature humor.
“Hi, I’m Kasey,” she said to David. “And I never stop talking! It’d be great if you could just nod or say ‘okay’ once in a while.”
David, for his part, remembers the first impression Kasey made.
“Her personality just clicked with mine,” David said. “I’m not much of a talker, but with Kasey, our conversations were easy, and I really enjoyed working with her.”
Their friendship deepened over time, and it wasn’t long before they found themselves drawn closer together.
A Story of Unexpected Adventure
After years of friendship, Kasey and David’s bond eventually became more, and in 2020, they got married. That same year marked many other milestones for the couple, including David’s promotion to Crew Chief, the purchase of their home and the birth of their son.
During this time of change, both Kasey and David continued to build successful careers. Kasey now works as a Curriculum Developer for Maintenance Training and enjoys sharing their experiences in the field. She admires David’s unwavering integrity, honesty and sharp intelligence.
“She’s incredibly motivated,” David said. “I’ve seen her take on so many different roles and excel in each one, whether it’s in maintenance, sheet metal or scheduling. Her enthusiasm for learning and growth is inspiring.”
Family and Fun
When they’re not immersed in aircraft maintenance or career ambitions, Kasey and David prioritize family time. They enjoy epic board game nights with their kids, sometimes diving into games like Bedlam in Neverwinter. Despite their busy lives, the couple keeps their family life fun and grounded, making the most of their time together.
Travel is another passion the couple shares and their trip to Japan in 2018 is a standout memory for both. Kasey, usually a beach lover, was hesitant at first but soon found the experience to be one of the best adventures of her life.
“David knows me better than I know myself,” Kasey said. “He’s great at picking things I’ll love long before I realize it.”
Another travel highlight was their hike up Texas’ Enchanted Rock State Natural Area where David proposed. For Kasey, this moment stands as a reminder of how much they have shared together.
“Starting a family, buying a home and raising our children has been the greatest adventure of all,” said Kasey. “David is one of the few people I can completely follow and trust without a doubt. With him, I feel safe.”
A Bright Future Together
As they look toward the future, Kasey and David are excited about the adventures that await them, both personally and professionally. While they have big dreams—Kasey hopes to eventually own her own Aircraft Maintenance Training School and David is focused on furthering his career as a Crew Chief—they know that the most important thing is supporting each other as they navigate life’s many challenges.
Their love story is one of resilience, teamwork and a shared passion for aviation. Above all, it’s a story of two people who have found something special in each other, a partnership that transcends both their work and their dreams.
Together, Kasey and David prove that love, much like the aircraft they maintain, can take flight and soar to great heights.
