In celebration of Black History Month, we’re sharing a series of 60-second interviews with employees and leaders from across Envoy. In this interview, we’ll hear from Woody Jackson, Jr., Envoy Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Analyst.
How do you celebrate Black History Month?
“I celebrate Black History by learning more about our heritage all year, specifically during Black History Month. I watch films and documentaries about the incredible Black individuals who helped shape the world, and I find it inspiring to learn about their journeys, triumphs, and contributions that have placed a stamp on society and our race.”
What do you love about your job?
“What I love most about my role is the incredible flexibility it offers. I get to travel, develop innovative processes and prioritize tasks in ways that make the greatest impact.
GSE curriculum, safety and compliance measures are not just a responsibility, it’s a chance to make meaningful improvements that impact our daily lives in the workplace.”
If you were not in the aviation industry, what job would you do?
“If I weren’t in the aviation industry, I’d likely return to the communications/media field, where I spent 20 fulfilling years. During that time, I worked with inspiring mentors and leaders, enhanced my skills in driving innovation, improved customer experiences, and built strong relationships.
It was more than just a job. My experiences and successes there shaped my professional values and fueled my passion for delivering excellence. That foundation continues to influence my work today.”
What makes you proud?
“I feel the greatest pride when I can positively influence someone’s life. There’s no better reward than knowing you’ve made a difference — it’s a joy that simply cannot be measured.
